Tyler Lockett recreates iconic Allen Iverson moment after TD (Video)

Tyler Lockett is one of the NFL’s most electrifying playmakers, and he gave the fans another awesome moment when he recreated Allen Iverson stepping over Tyronn Lue as his touchdown celebration.

Coming into a difficult Week 12 tilt against the Carolina Panthers, the Seattle Seahawks had playoff aspirations at 5-5, but they were facing a team with the leg-up on them in the NFC Wild Card race. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett did his best to give the Seahawks a boost, catching a 12-yard pass that was ruled a touchdown following a challenge.

Lockett’s score on third down gave the Seahawks a 17-13 lead in the third quarter, and Lockett had the perfect celebration for this play.

He teamed up with fellow wideout David Moore to reenact Allen Iverson’s infamous crossover and step over Tyronn Lue in Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals between the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Seahawks would lose the 17-13 lead they had on Carolina, falling behind 27-20 into the fourth quarter, largely thanks to an incredible performance from superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. Not only did he run for 125 yards and a touchdown on the Seattle defense, but he also turned 10 targets into 10 receptions for 104 yards in another flawless performance.

However, Seattle eventually took back the lead and won 30-27, thanks to an incredible touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Moore on fourth down. He then hit Lockett for a huge gain later in the fourth quarter, setting up a game-winning field goal for the now 6-5 Seahawks, who continue to trend upwards.

Meanwhile, Lockett was the star of the show for a quietly efficient Seahawks passing attack, leading the way with five receptions on five targets for 107 yards, with his touchdown reception and a 43-yard catch to set up the winning field goal being the highlights. Moore also added 103 yards on four receptions in a game where a less-than-100-percent Doug Baldwin was kept relatively quiet by the Carolina defense.

Every game is huge for Seattle, but it’s still great to see star players like Lockett having some fun while still shining on the field in big moments. This was an awesome touchdown celebration, and cross-over sports celebrations, especially those that involve actual crossovers, are just the best.
