NFL Week 6 2018: Picks and predictions

Week 6 of the NFL season is somehow already here, and it’s a slate full of games that could begin mapping out the playoff picture.

All lines are courtesy of OddsShark.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at New York Giants

The Eagles (2-3) really need a solid performance. Luckily for them, they are playing the Giants (1-4), are can’t win a a game whether it’s because of offensive, defensive or special teams failures. New York will keep it close before finding a way to lose.

Pick: Philadelphia 27, New York 22

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings (-10.5)

Minnesota (2-2-1) has already lost a home game against one of the worst teams in the league, giving it ample reason to avoid that trap again. The Cardinals (1-4) aren’t going to win many games this season, and beating the Vikings on the road is a tall order.

Pick: Minnesota 27, Arizona 14

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans (-9.5)

Houston (2-3) will likely beat Buffalo (2-3) in the ugliest fashion imaginable, mostly because the Texans are saddled with a coach who doesn’t understand the basic principles of football in 2018. It’s quite the watch.

Pick: Houston 21, Buffalo 13

Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins (-1)

This game could go either way, but give me the Panthers (3-1) on the short week. Washington (2-2) looked terrible in New Orleans, and while Alex Smith and Co. are capable of bouncing back, it’s hard to look at these rosters and not think Carolina is superior.

Pick: Carolina 25, Washington 23

Chicago Bears (-3) at Miami Dolphins

This game is a classic setup for disappointment. The Bears (3-1) have spent two weeks hearing about how great they are, and how Mitchell Trubisky has turned the corner. In fact, the only reason I’m taking Chicago to win is because the Dolphins (3-2) have been comically inept over the past two weeks, particularly on the offensive side.

Pick: Chicago 19, Miami 17
